Rue in the Garden Ecosystem
Rue is an evergreen perennial shrub with aromatic silvery green foliage and pretty yellow flower clusters that bloom nearly all throughout the year. The plant grows to be about 2-3 feet tall and wide, grows well in full sun, and is drought-tolerant once established. We love this plant, and in our experience, it's constantly covered in a myriad of pollinators.
Working with Rue
Energetically, rue is often thought to provide spiritual protection and ward of bad energy. It has a long history of use in magical rituals and can provide support to those who feel stuck and need help dispelling negativity. This herb is also often indicated for people who let others dominate them and need help stepping into their own power. Common ways to work with rue are through bath blends, herb bundles, satchels, and wreaths.
