Growing Cosmos in Central Texas

Updated: 6 days ago

Growing Cosmos

Cosmos, with their feathery foliage and bright range of colors, are wonderful companion plants to any garden, and the plants have a long bloom time. They attract pollinators, are fast-growing, and and easy to direct seed. They also thrive in the heat and sun, reaching heights of 2-4 feet. And some cosmos varieties can grow much taller than that!

Working with Cosmos

Cosmos are commonly used as dye plants and they’re a nice edible flower, making a beautiful garnish to salads, spring rolls, baked goods, and other culinary creations.
